This workshop series equips participants with tools to strengthen communication, deepen emotional intelligence, and respond constructively to conflict. Through structured dialogue, reflection, and practical strategies, participants will learn to recognize and express their own needs, understand the needs of others, and engage effectively in conflict management.

By the end of the series, participants will be able to:

  • Identify personal reactions to conflict and the reasons behind them

  • Describe how past experiences shape present-day responses

  • Develop strategies to improve personal and professional relationships

  • Prepare effectively for negotiations or meetings involving disagreement

  • Facilitate group discussions with greater confidence and effectiveness

1. Introduction to the Circle Process

A collaborative approach to meetings, team-building, group dialogue, and conflict management.

2. Conflict Management Styles

Identifying personal conflict styles, their origins, and their impact on relationships.

3. High-Quality Listening

Building presence, empathy, and effective listening skills to support others and resolve disagreements.

4. Needs vs. Wants

Understanding the differences between our needs and our wants, and the actions required to meet them.

5. An Introduction to Apology

Exploring five types of apologies, the elements of an effective apology, and our relationship with giving and receiving apologies.

6. An Introduction to Forgiveness

Exploring three types of forgiveness, their components, and our personal approach to forgiving and being forgiven.

7. Collaborative Negotiation

Preparing for negotiations with a focus on collaboration over competition.

8. Concluding Session

Exploring our journey over the past seven sessions and the steps (personal and/or professional) each participant wishes to take moving forward.

Note: Remote sessions include two additional meetings to ensure all topics are fully covered.

Participants seeking Continuing Education Credit in law, social work, education, or related fields will receive a certificate of completion along with the necessary documentation for reporting.
